Step & Spine Physical Therapy opens Bend clinic; will celebrate with Open House
Sep 3The staff and physical therapy team at Step & Spine Physical Therapy will host clients, neighbors and community leaders in celebration of their recent expansion into Bend during a ribbon cutting and open house event on Thursday, Sept. 24, 4 to 6 p.m.
Promoted by the Bend Chamber of Commerce, the event will be held at Step & Spine Physical Therapy’s new Bend clinic located at 2185 NW Shevlin Park Rd. – part of the recently completed Shevlin Health & Wellness Center near NorthWest Crossing. The celebration will feature facility tours, introductions to key staff members, demonstrations, giveaways, and food from Tate & Tate Catering and Ida’s Cupcakes.
The 4,000-square-foot clinic, which officially opened its doors on Aug. 5, is Step & Spine Physical Therapy’s third Central Oregon clinic. Step & Spine also operates similar-sized clinics in both Sisters and Redmond.
“After what’s felt like an incredibly long but worthwhile wait, we’re thrilled to have our third Central Oregon clinic open and already treating patients,” said co-owner and lead physical therapist Barrett Ford. He and his wife, Jodi, founded Step & Spine Physical Therapy in a 200-square-foot Sisters facility back in 2010. “When I started Step & Spine, I knew I wanted to eventually move into both Redmond and Bend, and we’re truly blessed to have reached this goal.”
Step & Spine’s Bend clinic currently employs five people, including physical therapists Siiri Berg, MPT, OCS, Colleen Sullivan, PT, and Shanette Menegus, PT. Once firmly established, Ford said he sees the potential to employ eight to 12 full-time staff members in Bend.
“Our core concept has been to both treat and educate our patients well, and that’s paid off for us,” Ford said. “Our patients, happy with the care they’ve gotten from us, have been really good at referring friends and family, and local physicians have been responsive to the quality of care we give here.”
NorthWest Crossing is a mixed-use neighborhood on Bend’s west side. Located just northeast of NorthWest Crossing, Shevlin Health & Wellness Center is an 11-building complex designed to accommodate health care providers focused on primary care, physical therapy, dentistry, radiology, eye care and general medicine. High Lakes Health Care is considered the site’s “anchor tenant.”
